Group Medical, Life, ADD and LTD Insurance
All IRRI, IRS receive comprehensive global insurance coverage for Medical, Dental, Life, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Long Term Disability. In addition, IRRI provides Medical and Dental coverage for IRS dependents. IRRI currently provides such coverage through VanBreda International, an organization which has expertise in the provision of employee benefits for international non-profit organizations. IRRI provides this benefit without any requirement for staff contribution or salary deduction.
Emergency Medical Evacuation Plan
IRS are provided with a comprehensive Evacuation program which provides 24/7 emergency medical, security and travel assistance, including emergency medical evacuation and repatriation, administered by a third party service provider, MEDEX. IRRI provides this benefit without requirement for staff contribution or salary deduction.
Housing
IRRI presently has 62 housing units on its Headquarters International Staff Housing compound and 24 additional properties all within commuting distance to IRRI HQ. IRS who rent properties at IRRI HQ have access to the use of ISH leisure facilities, which include a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball court and children’s playground, in addition to 24-hour security. IRS who live in non-IRRI managed properties in the Philippines, or who are based outside of the Philippines receive assistance through the IRS Housing policy.
Transportation
IRS may rent an IRRI vehicle to be used for personal and work for a monthly rental fee, which includes maintenance, insurance and registration. IRRI also provides support for the transportation of children to local schools.
Shipping and Storage
Relocating IRS are provided with support to transport household goods and personal effects to their new duty station in accordance with IRRI's relocation guidelines. The coverage considers the cost of packing, unpacking and transporting items from duty station to delivery point.
Home Leave Entitlement
IRS who are based outside of their country of citizenship, receive annual home leave benefits for the themselves and their IRRI-recognized dependents. This benefit is given to assuage the stress of relocation and separation from home culture.
Dependent Education
IRRI provides 75% of the educational costs of authorized dependents from early childhood (age 4) through grade 12 (EC-12) or equivalent. Reimbursable education cost includes regular tuition, normal admission and academic course fees and cost of textbooks.
Where an IRS dependent is attending school in a location which is different from the IRS, a roundtrip economy air ticket is provided each year from duty station to the off-station school of the authorized dependent. This travel benefit is extended to cover travel to College/ University.
Annual Physical Examination/Inoculation
IRS and their dependents (covered until age 26) are provided with support for an annual physical examination. Inoculation expenses are reimbursed by IRRI upon presentation of receipts subject to a maximum limit.

Shipping Allowance
IRRI provides support to PDFs by shipping their personal effects with a defined maximum limit from their country of origin to duty station and back again. This can be used in a manner best suiting their situation.
Temporary Housing Arrangement
PDFs and their dependents are provided with free accommodation for 30 days in one of the IRRI Residences on the IRRI Campus which includes meals in the cafeteria. This gives relocating PDFs sufficient time to locate suitable longer-term housing.
Transportation
PDFs are provided with a monthly transportation allowance which can be taken in advance on an annual basis.
Dependent Education
Education costs for eligible dependents, from pre-Kindergarten (age 4) through Grade 12, are reimbursed up to a total family maximum of US$2,400.00 per school year. If children are enrolled in Brent-IRRI International School IRRI reimburses 75% of eligible fees per year per child for a maximum of two children. Education costs include all regular, compulsory tuition and school fees as billed by the school, and compulsory school uniforms, but do not include optional, extracurricular activities such as music lessons.
